Downtown Taunton Foundation hosts many events throughout the year within the Downtown neighborhood.

Our Events

2020 Downtown Events

Liberty & Union Virtual Celebration

Each fall, Taunton, Massachusetts’ Liberty and Union Weekend commemorates the events of October 1774, when our community became the first in the American colonies to raise a flag in opposition to British rule. That flag – the “Liberty and Union” flag – flies proudly over our city to this day.

Liberty and Union Weekend 2020 is October 16 & 17, with events offered virtually for 2020. Please visit libertyandunion.org page for updates as they emerge and join in celebrating the flag that sparked a revolution!

The Raven: A Poetry Reading

Friday October 30

6:00 pm

Join us at an outdoor location downtown for this all-ages, socially distanced reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem, The Raven.  The poem will be read by Taunton’s own Barry Sanders in full Poe costume to add to the spirit of the event.  Never read The Raven?  This is a great way to experience this classic, spooky work of art.  Limited to 50 people, masks required.

Small Business Saturday

Join us Downtown to support small, local businesses on Saturday November 28th!  Featuring a Vendor Fair at Liberty & Union Park and a Downtown Passport (collect stamps at Downtown businesses to qualify for raffle prizes).
